Debbie Fallin: Customer Service Representative

January 2000

Debbie Fallin has over 15 years of experience processing deferment and cancellation forms. Over the years, Debbie says she has gone from a quiet employee who came to work, processed her forms and went home, to a team leader who deals with the most difficult questions, trains new employees and handles Campus Partners new customers after conversion.

Debbie is a graduate from Forsyth Technical Community College with a degree in Business Administration with an Accounting option. After graduating in 1984, Debbie accepted employment with the company as a Forms Analyst. She attended a six-week training course taught by Sharon Cameron. During training, she learned how to accurately process entitlements, deferments and cancellation forms. After gaining three and half years of seniority and experience, she was promoted to Senior Analyst, a position she earned because of her determination and dedication. In November 1997, she was promoted to team leader of the forms department.

Today, she supervises six forms analysts. Debbie is responsible for training new employees on the proper methods and procedures for processing forms and conducting refresher courses for experienced staff. In addition, she is responsible for maintaining the workflow; this includes ensuring that the oldest forms are processed first. She conducts routine audits of the Analysts’ work to ensure high quality of the work and that the employees understand the federal eligibility requirements. She answers questions from the internal staff as well as customer questions.

Because of her vast experience, Debbie handles all new customers for the first year or two after their conversion as well as assists with special customers needs. She is trained to review the conversion image and make the necessary adjustments on System IIISM. Debbie was also involved in the recent Year 2000 testing and system upgrades.

And as the federal regulations change, Debbie is instrumental in updating the forms accordingly. She then reviews the manuals and documentation and makes the necessary revisions. Finally, she trains the employees on the new forms, regulations, and procedures. "It can be challenging, at times, keeping up-to-date on all the changes to the regulations," stated Debbie.

Debbie has a daughter, Lisa, who is 19, and three boys: Adam, 13; Aaron, 10; and Andrew 7. She said, "I am very busy with the boys’ basketball and baseball practices and games. But I know how much they love it, because I play softball myself and my children come and cheer for me." The family enjoys participating in outdoor activities including horseback riding and camping. Debbie is also very active in her church.
