Inside Campus Partners
Paula Hall, Supervisor, Servicing Support

March 2006

Moments before this year’s recipient of the Anne-Marie Miller Service Excellence Award was announced, Paula Hall, Servicing Support Supervisor, leaned over and whispered to Kathy Riddle, Customer Service Manager, “Who do you think it is?” Upon hearing her own name being called, she shook her head in disbelief and muttered, “No Way!” Paula said she had absolutely no idea that she would receive our company’s most prestigious award and was uncharacteristically at a loss for words. “It was such a shock. To even be considered in the same category as Anne-Marie is an honor,” Paula exclaimed.

Charles Parker, Comptroller, presented Paula with the award at Campus Partners’ Employee Recognition Celebration on March 8th. “Paula epitomizes numerous attributes Anne-Marie Miller brought to our company for so many years. She is certainly a deserving recipient of this accolade,” Charles said of Paula.

As the supervisor of payment processing, records management, facilities management, imaging and the mailroom, Paula undeniably keeps busy. She says her biggest challenge is balancing the workflow between all the areas and managing her time. “Some days I’m OK, and other days it’s hard to tell if I’m coming or going,” Paula laughs. But she says she couldn’t do it without her team and credits them for her success. “A manager is only as good as her staff. I have a great group of individuals and together we make it work,” Paula said proudly of the ten members of her team.

Paula also cites Charles Parker as being extremely helpful to her in her duties. “His knowledge spans the entire company and there have been few questions I have asked him that he didn’t know the answer to off the top of his head.” Having worked in forms processing and Customer Service for many years, Paula says the area she learns more and more about each day is facilities management. “I am able to grow so much in this area because it has nothing to do with student loans,” Paula says. “I definitely have to wear many different hats.”

Outside the office, Paula keeps just as busy. She has two teenage boys, Wesley, 15 and Jordan 13, whose love of sports keeps Paula on the go year-round. The boys are involved in basketball, football and baseball. Paula said although it’s scary, she’s looking forward to Wesley getting his driver’s license in a few months so she won’t feel like a taxicab.

One of Paula’s own guilty pleasures is Bluegrass music. She started attending Bluegrass Festivals about five years ago and has been hooked every since. “The atmosphere is terrific. It’s like one big, happy family camping and enjoying the music together.” She also absolutely loves NASCAR. “My dream is to ride a lap with Ryan Newman in the #12 Dodge Alltel car at the Charlotte Motor Speedway!” Paula said excitedly.
